“We do not torture”

PANAMA CITY (Reuters) – The U.S. government is aggressively taking action to protect Americans from terrorism but “we do not torture,” President Bush said on Monday, responding to criticism of reported secret CIA prisons and the handling of terrorism suspects.

So we don’t torture, but what do we do in these “black hole” prisons that no one has access to? I’m sure it’s not all peaches and cream for anyone unfortunately stuck in one.

Why not dispel any rumors and allow the media or other legitimate parties access. Openess would go a long way towards repairing any damage done to our reputation.
