Verisign PKI and Firefox 10.0.1 on Apple OS X 10.6.8

I manage my company’s SSL needs through a Verisign Managed PKI account, that until recently I was pretty happy with. A few months ago, my browser decided to automatically update itself and after restarting, I was unable to access the secure web gui. I couldn’t figure out what the issue was for the longest time, but finally took some time today to work through it with a Verisign rep.

I had already tried re-issuing my Administrator certificate, but for some reason, the cert would never get stored in Firefox’s Certificate storage. I had thought it might be due to the version of Firefox I was running, which happens to be 10.0.1, but was hoping that wasn’t the case. After the call with the rep today however, I’ve discovered that only Firefox 4 and below are supported on the Mac. I ended up downgrading to 3.6 and was finally able to install my Administrator certificate and get access to my PKI account again.
